Exactly 27 years ago Kazuyoshi Hoshino won the Group 5 Championship
with his Silvia Turbo Super Silhouette. This racer makes me more proud
to own a silvia s12 than anything else. It was the year after, 1983, that
the Super Silhouette got it's s12 front but the rear lights were the ones
of an s12. There are some pictures in different posts around the forum
but on this day I think a tribute to the Super Silhouette with a thread filth with videos
and pictures would be nothing but the least to do

you can get 16" hoshino's they are just rare, as are the 5 lug ones..



i can get 14" hoshinos or weak 7" widths any day of the week but finding a set 15" + and wider than 7" is a waiting game.

The 1981-82 was a s110, the 1983 was a s110 body with s12 front and rear. Some say there was also a fully s12 version but I have never seen them.

I could've sworn I saw a full s12 one but I just google imaged and nothin. you can tell by the rear side windows. The bottom edge of the s110 and s110/s12 slopes up and has the same style chrome trim as the s110. The s12 slopes down and either had S12 style chrome trim or no chrome trim. why down and not straight idk but thats how I remem it. Also the full s12 one didnt have the aero fins at the windshield edges. There were other differences as well but mayb i'm actually just crazy cuz I couldnt find the pics

btw none of these cars are actually s110 or s12. They are full tube chassis race cars with hand made bodywork.

Haha I believe you Iggy. Was it same colour scheme? There are also some smaller group s12 race cars like the green/black/white one used as signature here on clubs12.

Yup that's why they could just take off the whole hood, bumper and fenders off in one piece. But it's still a silvia

I have also updated with some more pictures.

And another thing. I've noticed that there are 2 different types of silhouette's with the s12 front, the only difference being the decal where one of them has a silvia sticker on the front and the other one a nissan one + other small details. It seems they didn't just rebuild the same car through all the 4 active years.
