SO, you have a KA swap in your S12, and you're thinking of going turbo, eh? Or maybe you don't have a swap yet, but the idea of 2.4L boosted is appealing. Either way, this is the thread you want to read!

I was going to just put some links up to begin with, but I think I want to hit this with a vengeance. I want to not only provide as much info as is possible, but I want to *duplicate* some of the info from other sites, so if one site goes down, we continue to hold a repository of information.

First and foremost, I urge you to sign up on KA-T.org. They are dedicated to turbocharging the KA engine series, and have lots of experience with tuning and hard parts... what works, and what doesn't. I myself have signed up there and already obtained answers to a few tech questions.

Only problem is for the turbo manifolds is will the turbo clear the strut tower? the bay is about 8-10 inches skinnier than an s13. I really want to get a GT35 with a top mount mani but I dont know if it will clear. My other option is if it doesnt clear Ill add an exhaust pipe between the turbo manifold and the turbo and bring it a little forward towards the stock airbox location.

I'm not sure where you are getting that data, but I'd say the S12 bay is not even close to being 8-10" narrower than an S13. A bit, perhaps, but not that much.

let me find a pic to demonstrate

While the overall bay might be wider, the actual usable portion- the part where the motor sits- is fairly similar, similar enough anyhow...

with that being said, you think a top mount will work with a gt35r?

I would say yes, but it really depends on which manifold, as positioning is important.
