now that i have my ka setup to put into my previously automatic chassis, i was wondering about adding the clutch pedal setup. ive read in other peoples swaps that they got the pedal from another s12. i was curious if it was possible to get one out of a different car. anyone tried this before? i would imagine that bolt holes and brackets wouldnt be the same. but it may be worth trying if it is really difficult to find a donor s12. your thoughts? p.s. ive always loved the pedal setup in a miata- perfect for heel-toe downshifts!

s13 should be pretty close if memory serves me right the clutch master is the same on the s12 and s13

Ummm, honestly, best to do yourself a favor and order a new one. It seems to me, at least in the experiences that I've had, that if the system is broken apart and/or not been used for awhile, the clutch master/slave tend to go bad. Plus, its good insurance, because it would suck to have it go out on you when you're not real close to town. They aren't very expensive, either. I know the slave unit is about $20, and the master from what I've heard isn't much more.

I recommend that to pretty much everybody that does the auto-> manual swap.

All you would need is the clutch master, clutch slave, a piece of brake line sufficient to get to where you need (I'll measure my removed one and give you an idea), and a piece of flex line to go down to the slave.

A few guys (Asparagus, mod_mastaz) have figure out a certain Z (I believe 280) you can use one of their front brake lines, which can be of the braided stainless variety, which is kinda nice. Maybe overkill, but hey. Otherwise the rubber counterpart would suffice.

The stock clutch dampner box that is in the system isn't really necessary, there are a few guys that have pulled it out and had no problems.

Hope this helps for ya!

EDIT oh, and I'm a retard, I didn't quite catch you were asking mostly about the actual pedal assly, that I'm not sure on. S12s and S13s are both about as hard for me to find in the junkyards, I can shoot some pics of my S12 one thats removed if you want for reference.
