I found this on another site, so I'm reproducing the information here, in case the other site ever goes down, or the image links break over time.

This is for those installing an S14 KA24DE in their S12, but don't want the power steering.

Here is a quick modification that makes it possible to remove the power steering pump and still have a functioning belt to spin your water pump.

Slap a 12v KA water pump pulley on and use the belt (part number shown). As you tighten the pulley bolts, it pulls the belt tight. Nice clean way to solve the problem:

Does this Work for the s13 Also?? Or is there a different method?

umm.. I'm not sure how this works but it looks like your missing the alternator how would that even be possible?
rage
the alternator has its own belt, so does the a/c
the p/s and water pump are the only things shared on a KA24DE

the KA24E's have the p/s where the alternator is and vise versa iirc

ahh thank you for that info

alt and a/c are on the same place on s13 e, s13 de, and s14 de.

on the e, the p/s pump is on the intake side.

when the de came out with the swoopy doopy intake manifold, the p/s pump got put on the exhaust side.

This same mod will work on a fwd sr20. It might be the same on the rwd sr also.

RWD SR doesn't need it, the PS pump is by it self. So is the AC compressor, Alt and water pump is the only shared belt.
