Well, its finially here. The car thats been sitting for years up in Loyalton has found its new home. And since at least April, Premo has been trying to give it a new home. I'm hoping they find the title and stuff for it or its going to be a real pain getting it legal. I took it up to DMV to get the Vin inspected today, got that out of the way. And Jason's dad said he will bring by the keys on Sunday when he gets back into town.

Well, now for some pics, the only ones so far are the ones in the for sale area, but I did snap a couple pics with my phone after rinsing a couple yours of dirt and dust off.

Go to still unload it, but first need to get the column unlocked so I can steer it into my parking spot.

sweet looks good clean...

She is beautiful! Good luck, and take care about her!

LonelyS12
very clean! i have the rest of the missing lip kit pieces if your interested pm me.
Arro
I think he's gonna do a moderate build-up from what he said in the other thread... I'd bet he wants about 225 to 250hp, which with a T25 and a freshly tightened longblock should be doable. So He's prolly keeping the CA singlecam.

Jason, I gave Hung my turbo manifold, but there might be some other crap I hae left over that's CA18ET specific... I'll have to take a quick inventory and letcha know what I have that might help you.
200SXXEnotchbck86
Thanks guys, it looks better wet. There still a shine, but the paint is realy oxidized. Sometime here in the near future, i'm going to clean it up and see what a little rubbing compound and a lot of elbow grease will do. I'm kinda wishing I didn't throw away the SE lip from my 87 now though madrant.gif .
Arro
e try Zaino... nothing will get the car to shine as good as that.

Well, Jason's dad couldn't find the keys or the title for it. He did say though that Jason (Premo) may have the keys down in San Diego. I can get keys made if need be, but I do need the paper work for it. DMV here won't do nothing unless I can show proof of ownership. For now though, it looks like I get to drill out the mounting bolts for the ignition lock so I can unlock the column so I can move the car off the street before the PD decides to ticket it and tow it. At least the tires seem to be holding air. When I went to rinse off the car at the coin up, there was 2 car batteries sitting there, so I took one to use as a core since the car didn't have a battery in it. If i'm lucky, I might be able to use the battery in the car for now.

Nice!!

What wheels are those? Wierd. Familiar though.

Big bummer bout keys and papers. Be careful how much you sink into it til you get papers. I've been burned in tha past that way and its no fun. At least mine was a honda and parting the car out was EASY.

YOU THREW AWAY A SE KIT!!!!????

The lip, I had it sold but never heard back on it. It sat in the back of my truck for months and got mess up, that was probably a year ago. And those wheels, I beleive are off a Z car, probably 280 or early 300.
200sxkitcar
They look like the 84/85 300ZX rims I've seen in the jyards.

I actually saw your old V6 in the yard local to you, I figured it was a members, it seemed familiar and the lip was missing biggrin.gif I walked up to it, and was like 'damn I know this car'
200SXXEnotchbck86
Was the rear end smashed, passenger side? Electric fans and no clutch fan? It was towed by the city, guess thats were it finially ended up. When I get some money, I'm going to go to PNP to scavage for some things. Need a grill and the corner lights and replace a cracked turn signal lens up front. The car is pretty complete, need a new battery though, tried cahrging the one I found for near 24 hrs. It turns on the lights, and struggles to crank over the car. The battery from my Suburban cranks it normally. I'm hoping the clitch in the dash is because of the bad battery, it came on for a few seconds and then went dark (digital dash). I think the volt meter was showing something like 8 or 9 volts, diffently a bad battery.
200sxkitcar
Sounds about right, but its been awhile. Doubt its still there tho, its been a good 3 months or so...

Some outside shots, Wiped the entire outside with some watered down window cleaner, it did help take some of the oxidation. Now can you can brush up against it and not turn oarange more the most part.

Going to a pre interveiw today at Kragens, I'm hoping to get in there. Would help considerably with bills and be able to put a liittle money into the car.

Keith
Looks good dude!Glad to see you got another one
200SXXEnotchbck86
Thanks Keith, Don't care for the steering wheel though, would like to find an 88 Se 4 spoke or go after market. Got lots of hoses to replace, some are just literely falling off.
Keith
So, was it originally not a turbo model, or does it have a non turbo interior swapped in?
200SXXEnotchbck86
Premo said he swaped it from another car, a white one he had in the past.

The interior I assume?
200SXXEnotchbck86
Yes the interior, I think everything on the inside was swapped out, including the dash. Blue interior in a red car doesn't seem to match all that well. But i'll live with it for now. It needs to be repainted anyways as there are primer spots showing up through the paint. Will have to be real carefull when I go to buff it out and try to regain some of its past luster since it won't be repainted nowhere near soon. Got plenty off time to think of a color I would like to paint it. Was thinking copper with the black trim, but I don't think it would look right with the blue insides. Maybe a midnight blue, lots of time for thinking about a color. Need to get it title and running first.
DerMetzger
Time to get to work man!

Good shit, clean car.
200SXXEnotchbck86
Hopefully very soon I will be to able start working on this. Got back from Kragens in a very good mood. Looks like I should be getting the job, The manager sent in my info to headquarters, once approved, which I'll find out Wednesday when he said he will call, will have to go in, get the stuff for the drug test and I should be able to start sometime next week. thumbsup2.gif When I found my last S12, I had been out of work for a while. Right after finding the car, I found a job. Its looks to have happened again with needing another job. Will be working 2 jobs now, single part time job doesn't cover the bills. I will still be at toys R us for at least a little while longer, as I still have insuarance and stuff from them that I don't want to lose right now.

cant find the keys. ken said to just make up a bill of sale....i can hand write one if you want.

as far as teh rims, they're from an 84 z31. they tires are toyo proxy fz4's if memory serves

the interior is out of my first s12...it was an 84 XE. power seats even! the interior on that car was freakin RAGGED when i got it! was a less then pleasant drive back from central washington wink.gif

FYI, some dick head was kind enough to try and steal teh muffler (i have NO IDEA WAY!!) ages ago so its cut on teh pipe. lol

i actually had all teh missing peices of that car up until just recently! i pulled them off when i went to swap out the motor as i do so i wouldnt risk damaging. i got ripped off on teh motor too..sadly this was back in the classic200sx days when we didnt have such a wide resource for parts and i picked it up in freakin Oregon and couldnt go beat his ass for selling me a junk motor...asshole.

anyways, glad to see its still in decent order. we'll meet up next time im in town smile.gif

Is the dash and everything from that first car as well? If it now has the vin from the XE, then all I'll need is the title for that XE. As for keys, I can have those made, had to do that with my first S12. I got the column unlocked, drilled out the bolts that held the ignition lock and removed it. I noticed the exhaust, it looks in need of replacement anyways. It cleaned up fairly well, needs to be vacuumed out. Those plastic garbage bags just disintergrated when you went to pick them up. Tires though actually seem to still be holding air.
Premo
im pretty sure i have it, ill look smile.gif

Please, I need it ASAP. Damn pricks booted it today and were going to tow it. I got the boot off for now, and he had me put the Washington plates on it and told me to get a frame to partually cover the tags and he will ignore it for a little while. He only did that because I didn't come flying out at him and getting in his face, managemant kinda helped since there the once that gave me permission to park it there in the first place. Still had to pay $100 of money I can't offered to get the boot off though rant.gif . Looks like Top Roman for the next week thumbsdown.gif .

The good news is though, Is that I'm waiting for my background check and my drug test to clear and I should be starting a new job at Kragen. The store manager also mentioned trying to get me fast tracked into management. 20% off discount off parts. I can live with that thumbsup2.gif .

Dude you're in NV, right? I've been going through the details of what it's gonna take to register my S12 there.

Premo, where was the XE car registered LAST? CA or NV? It makes a difference.

There are ways around the title, Jason. If it's a California car, there's a couple steps you can do to get some paperwork in your name, and then take that paperwork to NV to get it going there.

If it's an NV car currently, it might be different but there's a route there as well.

Its not in the Nevada computer as I have had the vin verified by DMV. They have it down as an 84 Dastun 200sx Hatchback 2 dr with 4 cylanders. Doesn't show what motor on the vehicle Inspection certification though when I go to get it smog it will probably show. I think as long as I have a filled out lost title paperwork and a bill of sale, I should at least be able to get it registured here in Nevada though an actual title would be way easier and allow me to title it here in Nevada.
Premo
let's not discuss the vin'age situation online pls...

the XE is registered in CA. Jason, call my dad on monday. he's down in the bay area helping my uncle move this weekend. i told him the situation and he has the title for the XE and proper VIN tags for the turbo. i can write you a bill of sale for the turbo and XE. call me...ill prolly be out in the water in an hr or so for a good portion of the day as tide is coming up soon so leave a msg if i dont answer an ill call ya back
200SXXEnotchbck86
Well, got some gas and tried to start her up. No start, not much I can do at the moment. Not as long as the apartment building people are out and about. Will have to wait till they go in for the day. Pulled codes, got code 23 and code 31. I'm not sure if the fuel pump is working or not. Haven't heard it come on. Going to see if theres any gas left in the can and add it direct to the intake to see if it kicks.

Doh, I left the can in the wifes Jeep, and she left for work. So much for that idea. To bad I don't have any carb cleaner or something like that.

Oh, Premo, I left a message with your dad this morning. Haven't heard anything back from him yet.
Premo
he JUST got back into town a bit ago, call him now...i think he's down the street from the house

do a compression test man and remove the timing belt and check the timing marks. i think the belt is on there wrong. i went thru a series of shitty motor swaps in that car, it was nuts! long story...ugh. lol

I think I should check the belt first, if it is off, I probably won't have much compression. Would like to know If I have fuel though. Need to check the filter and see if I got any fuel there and also see if it kicks over when I put some fuel in the intake (No, I haven't done that yet).

I still have to call your dad, I left a message Monday morning but haven't heard anything. Will try again today and see if I can catch him.

I have had some ideas for the car, but right now my pocket book is in the "yah, Right" mode right now. I will be contacting Kragen on Thursday morning to find out about the status of the background check and drug test. I am hoping that I can start on Thursday and put in some hours. Anything right now would help.

Things to be done:

1. Titled and registured of course
2. Get new battery
3. Get a Boost gauge and manual boost controller (Well, at least the boost gauge)
4. Diagnose and repair to get running

Things I would like to do:

Rebuild motor or replace with DET-- This will come down to availeble funds and downtime, I want to get this on the road ASAP, so a DET swap probably will not happen, at least no time soon. The ET is capable of making my power goals so the DET would be more a luxary. I was thinking of just a standard rebuild as long as I don't have to bore it out. Have the head taken up and rebuilt with a good 3 angle valve job. Would like to get my hands on a Nismo cam during the build. Summit sells ARP head bolts which I would like to use as well as aquiring a cosmetic metal head gasket. That would covor the top half, as for the bottom end, would like to at least get the crank resurfaced and the rods shot peenned and reassembeled with some good quality bearings. I have seen the det girdle has been used on these blocks, not sure if I would need it, but would be nice to have. Since I would like to use ARP bolts on the bootm end to, I will need to get the block aligned honed. Is there an ARP set available, does anybody know? Will have to look into that when I start gathering parts. I haven't seen the bottom end on these motors, is there a windage tray? If not, I would need to find (or make) one to keep the oil sloshing down from the crank. Hi volumn oil pump would also be something I would like to get.

With the motor done, would like to upgrade the turbo. Was at least wanting to get a t25g from an SR, heard those are good turbo's for this size motor and are cable of making the power that i'm shooting for. This car is going to be a daily driver, so I don't need 300 or 400 hp, I'm looking to get around 200 which I have seen these motors hitting. Would like gt2860r though, but might be pushing it a bit.

Need a BOV, intercooler and plumbing, Safc controler to tune, and everyhing else mentioned above.

I was thinking also that for ignition, I would like to get an MSD box with the boost retard function and 2 blaster coils. Would need to find out if the 6al box can run 2 coils or if I have to split the cables to the coils to run both. Might be cheaper to get the 6 box the has the builtin boost control instead of getting the 6al box and the seperate boost retard box.

As for car color if I repaint, was thinking of a dark purble with the trim and scoope painted black. Tint of the windows would also be on the list. As for wheels, was thinking of something like this:

IPB Image

For cooling, I may just stay with the stock radiator, get it rotted out and checked and then run an electric fan setup. Most likely the fans will probably be of the wrecking yard verity, had some good luck with Maxima fans on my SE. I think I will do the sensor/relay setup a little different though, more like Keiths setup instead of the probe through the rad approach (though I might end up doing that again, it worked).

Julie
so this car was bought on the Premotarian form of currency?
Arro
lol "Premotarian". i.e. beer for coins and tacos for paper currency tongue.gif

I dunno Jason, I ain't feelin' those wheels man... doesn't really mesh in my mind as complimentary to an S12, but who knows.

If you paint it another color, just be sure to paint the doorjambs and engine bay and other shit, nothing is more ghetto than when you see a totally different color in those places, unless it's like black or grey. I hate that my car wasnt painted right.

Like my SE, painted blue, but the jambs and under the hood were red. That did bug me. I have like that style for a while, wish I knew somebody who could photshop them onto my car to see what they would look like.

"so this car was bought on the Premotarian form of currency?"

Kinda of, I still owe him the beers and Tacos.

Well let's see, your car is a copper '84, isn't it? If you can find any side view of an 84 turbo, Julie probably has the technical skills to chop those wheels into it, provided you post the model name and number of the wheel so finding a compatible image is a bit easier.

I guess I just volunteered you, Julie. lol

The car was/is red, was thinking of painting it copper. Those rims I found on Discount tire's web site and again on ebay, I will see If I can find a model number.

No, not yet. I talked to him today though. He still has to go up into the attic to get the paper work out. I gave him my address so he can mail it to me so I wouldn't have to wait till the next time he was in town. Hopefully I will have it soon, would like not to have to worry aobut the papers and concentrate on trying to get it up and running.

No, I haven't started at Kragen yet, still waiting for the background check to clear. The manager has an email in to try to push it through. It hasn't been denied or okayed yet, which I think is weird. Will have to try back tommorrow, maybe then we will know more.
