Hey this is gonna sound retarded yes I'm the guy that asked about the operating temp.. So A while back I blew the head gasket in my 240SX KA24E, this was before i asked about operating temp., anyway while in the process of taking the head of I unbolted it in 4,6,7,9,1,2,8,10,5,3, order I'm not retarded just in a hurry because at the moment this is my only mod of transport. And now to my question how far can you machine down the KA24E head past stock thickness, in thousandsth of an inch, before you need a head spacer/shim? If anyone knows the answer please reply thankx again.

As in the other thread, you'll need to find an S13 FSM somewhere online to get this data. Your machinist of choice really should also have this data, he'll need to check the head to see how far out of flat it is, and see if it can be machined and still be within tolerance.

There should be "thumbprints" in on the gasket surface of the head, thats how far you can machine it down
