Noticed that this has been up for a couple days now and want to know what you guys think.
KA24DE + Tranny for sale
The guy's asking $150 CAD. The tranny's shot & the engine itself has over 340,000kms on it (that's pretty high, for all you imperialists ).

Provided there's nothing seriously wrong with it, would I be able to rebuild it, find a tranny to mate to it, stuff it into my S12 & be confident that it would be reliable for under my $3500 budget (keep in mind that $3500 is for my diff & suspension too) and push the 200+hp I want?

For those of us using the imperial system, its 214k miles.
If the block isn't cracked and the head ain't warped, it would be worth a rebuild. I would try to see if it will run before you bought it. $150 ain't bad at all. As for the trans, you could always rebuild that too. But for the cost of the rebuilds, you could probably get a decent(lower km) KA witha working trans. Try and get one with the harness and ecu.
