This will be a documentation of what can and can't be used from CA > KA swap

- the CA alternator bolts up perfectly on the KA Alternator bracket which means less wiring for you.

- the CA alternator adjuster works well.

- Water pump DOES NOT WORK on the ka24e

- misclanious bolts are interchangeable between the CA, VG, and KA engines. just random bolts and nuts.

- A/C compressor's are interchangeable. (keep it incase your KA compressor seizes you have a freebie)

- The old oil pressure switch bolts up to the KA perfectly. (this also goes for digi dash S12's)

why would you want to use any of these old ass parts when you swap your engine? a ka should come with it's own alternator and also might have different amps. As for the water pump, you don't want to use an old water pump. Just fork out the 30 bucks for a brand new one when you swap, it's sorta rather important.

not much. check my swap thread, theres some usefull info there, but I would love to see this list made and put in arro's faq

my KA didn't come with a alternator and I'm not coughing up 100 dollars for a new one, So I'm being resourceful and using what i have laying around. 10 amp difference big whoop. thats enough for my radio, headlights, and to keep the engine running.
asparagus
I believe the difference was more like 20-30 amps. You can get a used or junkyard one for like 15-25 bucks. But hey, yeah, sure, go you.

junkyard is always a 50 - 50 chance it'll come out good or bad and if it comes out good how many more miles till it dies? i wouldn't trust the junkyard for parts like alternator, ECU, wiring harness, injectors, etc.

i dunno where you got the 20 - 30 amp difference from looky here. unless you're talking about the DE which yeah go i can understand but were talking about the E.

these people get their specs from the manufacturer.

all those 3rd party ones carry all those amperages

Keep looking and youll see 60,70,80,90 all across the board

regardless you can get one that's stock amps for that motor for the price of a meal. And I certainly hope no one uses an old ass water pump
rage
so im wondering what youre going with that old ass V belt that CA accessories have

Spot good advice when you see it, Jeff.

The old A/C compressor bolts up nicely (it's hot in FL @_@)

- the old oil pressure thing from the old CA works on the KA PERFECTLY.

sweet! using my ca's alternator for my ka24e.. love savin money.

some CA alternators are v belt, some are serpentine. idk if the serpentine ones will work on the ka, but they are probably the same housing...
