I'm curious whats involved. I know Datsun guys do NA KA-E builds in 510's and have them carbed...but for the life of me I cant really find info on it.
I'm not really looking to do this, but I enjoy learning. I know a fair bit about newer modern cars but I never had the opportunity to work on an old muscle car or anything so Carbs are kinda over my head.
Do you run standalone? Kinda odd in my head cuz normally one of the jobs is to regulate fuel...which if my understanding is correct, carbs arent really electronic.
Need new intake manifold? can you use old injectors? How easy? How hard? How is fuel regulated?

Whatever random info you have to help me understand this is appreciated, lol

OHH, and vids are VERY much welcome

carbs don't use fuel injectors which is a plus. but their very picky like their very sensitive. i can't tell you for sure how it works yet, but i know the fuel filter is a SMALL LITTLE SHIT I MEAN SMALL!

carbs use no computer or wiring, which is why old guys tend to go with them, because they don't understand all that newfangled shiat.

the carb(s) need a special manifold to integrate to the motor. as Jeff alluded to, most of the fuel system is much less beefy, as carbs only use 3-5 psi, have smaller filters, etc. and don't have return lines.

see now i've been totally thinking the same thing for a wile, i have a ka24de, and i seen all sorts of ka's on the net here, the single slams and the duals all stuffed into the 510's and the hardbody minitrucks with carbs, all custom i guess, i could never find info on the manifolds or the carbs, but i'd still like to try it sometime for shits and giggles, sure there harder to tune with air pressure/tempature changes, elevation changes, and whatnot, but they sure look badass evilbrows.gif

PLEASE explain yourself, lol
From what I've heard carbs dont hold up well for drifting...something with the fuel..as far as the manifold I believe you can use like MIKINI carbs matted to Nismo Intake Manifold or something (that info was so far in the recesses of my brain I litterally pulled it out with cobwebs...so sorry if that info is a bit off, lol)...but anyway I've been thinking this is a cool idea for DD or something

You ok Jason? hahaha
sinestro
blink.gif wait who said anything about drifting? but where can you get this nismo carb manifold? what about one for a de? do you have a link to somewhere or something?
fyneyoungstunna
meh,i think if they are properly jetted, they would do alright for drifting. much easier to work on than EFI.
frosti108
