Maybe you could post yours too and maybe someone can help identify the grey plugs also. I also would be curious to see what some others did with their engine bay.

i would post my pics but my shit isnt runing so i dunno if it would help lol
JonB
I think that goes from the pass door to the right under the rad support. It's part of the body harness, goes through the whole car and connects to the SMJ.

On the left front, where it ends(to your right standing if front of the car), it connects to the engine harness. I'll get you more info on those connectors soon.

Never mind. Don't listin to me. Gotta aa '89 FSM if you want a scan or two though.
fyneyoungstunna
yeah, ill probably post pics tomorrow. but still, post pics doesnt matter if its running or not. that scan would help. the autozone had the hanes manual for my 84 but someone got to it before i did
JonB
If you want me to scan any of the '89 240sx FSM just mention what part.
jeffwins24
I'll post pics tomorrow

BTW Mines is setup in such a way where my KA ECU it placed where the old CA20E USE use to be on the drivers side kick panel.
fyneyoungstunna
thanks guys.

oh and how hard do you think it would be to put new plugs on where it connects the the fuel injectors mine are beyond damaged.
brewster240
its real easy.

next time you are at the junkyard get the injector plugs off of an audi/vw/volvo/saab/bmw etc.

they are the same bosch style plug, but the clips are a much better design.
fyneyoungstunna
thanks brewster those stupid metal "c" clamp things suck

the second pic is for the plug in the forground, cant figure that one out.

4th pic im just wondering if thats the right place.

these are all the wires comming off the harness that goes to the fuel rail.
jeffwins24
2nd pic the plug goes to the distributor plug.

4th pic is completely wrong. the little thing with the red, green, and yellow wires is the speed sensor go under your KA tranny and there sound be a seriously long wire coming from near the back, unscrew it and throw it away you don't need it, beware of tranny fluid if you filled it up. go to a j-yard and pull the speed cable from a N/A 300ZX manual tranny and stick it in your trany and plug it into that green, yellow, red, wire plug and now your speedo on the digi dash works. side note: make sure it's pulled from a Z31 not a Z32

3rd pic not sure what your trying to point at?

1st pic i don't know.

5th and 6th pic i don't know
brewster240
for the most part i cant really see what you are taking pics of, they are blurry and i cant really see where they are.

jeff is wrong about the speed sensor wires, but right about getting the z speedsensor if you have cable. it might not have the right gear on it though for proper speedo reading.

the wires for the s13 speedo sensor are on the lower harness.
fyneyoungstunna
pics...anybody???
Phisherman09
yay!

heres what i can decifier from your pics and the harness layout.

crank angle sensor, connector f21
IPB Image
uh what connector are we lookin at here??
IPB Image
looks like coil connector, F36

fyneyoungstunna
thank you phisherman. any more docs like the one you posted?? specifically one for hoses? or a link to where you found that at??

so the harness pictured is the only one i need right??
Phisherman09
the harness i posted is the upper harness. basically everything to run the fuel injection nad ignition. thats the harness you need to run the car.

the starter and alternator, etc will be on your lower harness, which will be s12. the only harness you need to change to s13 to swap engines is that upper harness. just connect the starter/alternator from the s12 lower harness up to your KA engine. then make the connections for the igniton/coils/fuel/ecu from the s13 harness to where the old s12 upper harness connected into the main harness, at those plugs under the s12 MAF location.

^^does that make any sense?? let me know if you have more questions.
i can post the layout of the lower s12 harness if you need that as well.
what hose diagram did you need and i can post it up.

fyneyoungstunna
you are the man.

yes that made sense and that diagram was a major help.
if you dont mind posting the lower that would be cool. i cant for the life of me figure out wich plug goes to the alternator.

umm hose diagram for the kae if your up to it, but youve done enough so i wont ask much more.

ka wiring comes thru the firewall
IPB Image

comes down to the plugs i put in, thats where the power comes from the s12 side. i extended all the wires on the maf side to the battery side to work with my plugs.
IPB Image
IPB Image

s12 power cables, all s12 from the lower harness back to transmission. s12 wires were used on the ka alt, oil pressure and st. power for starter

thanks guys.
silvia love, that pic solved my alternator problmes.

well now that i have a day off its time to go try to ge the 12 running.

ill be back later if i have any more questions
fyneyoungstunna
ok the drivers side is good to go. not the passenger side is the problem.

from the ca harnes there is a strand with 2 grounds on it and 2 odd shaped connectors where does that go to.

silvia love, in your 7th pic , did you have to wire your own alternator harness??
silvia love
i re-used the s12(ca) lower harness. which goes to the alt, starter, trans sensors and oil pressure. since i used the ka alternator i had to splice the ka plug to the s12 lower harness. i believe you can just reuse the ca alternator and not have to worry about that though. i think thats how david_b did his.
fyneyoungstunna
ahhh wait. so the female ends on the ca lower harness need to be made to fit the ka engine(?) i think thats where im goofing. so i need to get actual plugs and rewire them. or, just basically recreate the s12 lower harness?

in your 4th pic that section of the harness you are holding is all custom right?

where did you get the plugs?
fyneyoungstunna
anyone ever pull out the complete lower harness?
do you have to remove the front fenders to do it??
