Ok guys, I need to know that this will work.

I need pics of where you mounted your KA to the S12 frame. did the KA24 motor mounts fit right on the S12?
apparently I shouldn't need custom mounts.

Use the mounts that came on the KA, drops right on the subframe.

yes, stock 240sx mounts. why is this so hard?

so if stock works after market upgrades for the s13 would also work?

but yeah ka's definetly go in it been done alot and i'm in the process of doing it.

More likely than not.

ok, just wondered. my buddy chris owns 2 S13's, and says they're way different, even though I told him it should drop right in.
K, thanks.

and my friends keep telling me to ditch the S12, and get an S13, because if I drift it, and I destroy a quarter panel, I'll kill myself looking for parts.
even though I love the S12. they tell me I'm an idiot for keeping it.

okay heres the break down........
ca20e or 18et mounts WILL NOT WORK. throw them away or sell em, they're junk.

you MUST use the ka-e or ka-de mounts, both upper(metal brakcet) and lower(actual rubber mount). TEY BOLT RIGHT IN, NO PROBLEMS:O

you CAN use any aftermarket mount BUT it MAY RAISE THE ENGINE POSITION. so your hood MIGHT NOT FIT. most people here use stock mounts, just filled in with poly in a tube, i.e. window weld

TRANS MOUNT HAS PROBLEMS. it will need modding. theres SEVERAL WAYS to do so. sterlings way being the best, imo. pics can be found in ARROS BUILD THREAD, the rising from ashes one.

aftermarket motor mounts work (well for shure on the kae) doesnt raise the engine at all. but even if it did i shouldnt hit the hood, there a decent amount of space. me and arro had this conversation in another thread, but i think its lost at sea, so ask him about the barrel-style ka motor mounts.

and actualy i think when i tried the ca20e mounts there was just a small issue that was keeping them from working (if i remember correctly)

well aftermarket motor mounts can raise/lower the engine, it really depends which ones you buy. theres an article from some magazine comparing all of them floating around somewhere

It's also a passion mixed into it. It's not "Just another S13".
Just tell those friends, At least I'm foraging a path, and not following a trend.
Of which they'll say "But it's easier to do, and more plentiful"
To which you'll reply with "Maybe I like challenge, Maybe I enjoy doing something different, And maybe I can't afford the drift tax everyone puts on your S13's"

haha that's very true. I love the S12, and I dunno, I guess I like oldschool cars more than newer ones, ...well, depending. I love the FD RX7. But I don't think I'll ever afford one.
S12's are very rare, and unique. At one time, somebody told me there are probably 1000 of them in Canada left. ...even though that's a little off, ..still tells me they're pretty rare. And I've had 2 S12's. They are worth something to me.
