So after I took my gauge cluster off to hook up my tach (after ka swap), my headlights are permanently up, and my brake lights are on. Did I short something out? All my fuses are still good.

Ideas?

That's fairly interesting... I would undo whatever you did, reconnect the original wire, and use the factory one under the hood to run the tach, and see what happens

I tried to use the one under the hood...but it didn't work. So I had to run it behind the dash. Just for clarification I hook it up to the blue/white wire that used to go to the coil right?

Yup, blue/white to the green/something at the coil

I had a msd coil so i found out which terminal was the ground on the coil by trial and error...and wired it up to the light green wire at the back of the tach...there was also a black and a dark green wire at the back of the tach...my car is an 85 with a analog tach...not sure what you have. /\_/\

I ran a lead from the green wire at the coil to the light green behind the tach. My guess is that I yanked some wires loose or something while removing the gauge cluster.
